This is my best friend Jaime. She fell into a worm hole that made her tiny :)
Actually,
She is sitting in a giant chair in the Philippines.
She left to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (my church) this time last year, Before she left she was an absolutely talented student and a truly Amazing friend. I was afraid that when she left that we would end up going our separate ways because it takes about a month for a letter to get from Utah to the Philippines.
But, as it turns out, the Church changed their policy and now allows family AND FRIENDS to email missionaries. :) this allows for gmail chatting (we dont actually chat, just send emails back and forth over the course of an hour or two) every Monday morning at 2am. It has been really nice to talk to her, and I am very grateful for the change.
I am so so proud of her! I have not had the opportunity to serve a mission yet (it will come when I am old and grey... or die, whichever comes first ;), but having her out there makes me feel a bit better. Not that I am super sad about it, I love my little family, but it could have been awesome to serve a mission.
She just told us that one of her all time favorite investigators is getting baptized on Saturday!!
Yay!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone who has served a mission, and all of the member missionaries too! I am grateful for the missionaries who taught my dad more than 25 years ago and for his friends who led by exampleT. I love the gospel and all of its truths and blessings!
so Thank You
