I am so grateful for leaders called of God who help me to feel peace through all that is going on in the world.
The Church released a Statement on same-sex marriage. I know it is important to stand up for what you believe in but also important to not hate those who believe differently than you. This has been a hard line for me to define but with a lot of prayer and scripture study I have been able to feel more at peace in regards to same-sex marriage/attraction.
More than anything The Family: a Proclamation To the World has been a great help for me. I encourage any who are struggling with this issue as I did, to go back and read the proclamation over and over again. I am grateful for my family and for parents who have been excellent examples to me over the years. I know that God loves all of his children, even if they do not abide by his laws; and so should I. I also intend to stand up for marriage as God defines it, because standing up for your beliefs is not hate, it is showing your love for God and his plan.
