Well, it's here-- September 1st
I made it
We all survived
There is still a bit of settling in to do, our house is still quite bare (that won't be able to change for a while though), we still need to put electrical in our name (... oops I was supposed to do that today... but I will pass), and the car situation is a bit iffy.
But most of the annoying stuff is over and done with.
And we are pretty settled in
On Wednesday we are having dinner with a neighbor so we, "can get a taste of true salmon" apparently you have only had real salmon if you have had it fished fresh out of an Alaskan river. Almost everyone here has 1-3 deep freezers full of moose and fish hunted and cought during the summer by themselves or friends. I'm going to have to learn to love fish... and moose apparently.
So, life here is pretty great so far

Glad you made it! I'll have to let you know when I'm in anchorage one of these days. I still haven't grown to like fish, but you are spot on with everyone having freezers full and it tasting better fresh caught. Sounds like you have met some real Alaskans already. Moose actually is really good. It tastes really close to hamburger. I can never tell the difference anymore.
