Our "First" Appartment

So, our Appartment is bassically tiny, but it is perfect for us right now. It is not techinically our first becasue we rented a furnished-sublease for the first month after we were married. But, I dont count that one, So here is a little about our real first appartment.

Alright So, the building was once a house but the owner recently split it into six appartments all of which are tiny (ours has the best use of space, believe it or not). This means that there is only one thermastat (which is out side in a non-ventalated shack, so it can get very hot in here), only one breaker box (Which they could not find for a while), only one water pressure thing (which means all of the water pressure is down Sunday mornings), and only one shut off valve for all 6 apartments. The Original house was at least 365 years old so the windows kinda need up dateing, along with a few other thigns (our bedroom window is thin enough that I can hear very well the conversations going on out side, which one time was a little awkward). Also, the heating is very out-dated. If you look around the front doors, there are pipes that surround it, that is the source of our heat, those pipes get hot, and sometimes I forget, and it hurts. There are only two fire alarms both of which are in the bed room and are about 4 feet away from eachother, one goes off every time I cook, so it has been relieved from duty. The door does not close unless we dead bolt it. So, on days I forget my keys I have to squeez through the miniscule window next to the door. This is my fit ness program, it keeps me small enough to fit through :)One the left side of the room you see our fish tank (that requires another entry later) and to the right is our study area/gamming desk. The front room (more like a hallway) looks different now that we have a little sofa where the purple chair is and a mini garage where the piano is.
Yeah, Its small, but luckily we hardly ever have guests over so it works.

The kitchen is not too bad. Other than the fact that the stove is old so when Branden tried to store the cutting board in the storage compartment it caught fire. Also there is hardly any cupboards so there is a lot of stacking going on on the few shelves that we have.
We are the first to be in the newly refurbished version on this apartment so every thing at least feels new. And with the help of my mom mixed with Ikea we have made use of the space that we have.
This is the one and only closet. it is small and smells funny (due to the quick paint job they did, some of which got on the light bulb) and thats all I want to say about that.
This is the only other door in the house (other than the front door) but it hardly deserves the title door. It is literally a painted peice of 1 inch plywood. it is crocked, but it works. Next and Last (quite possibly least) is the Bedroom. It could be smaller so I try not to complain. Although, we were almost unable to get any furniture in here becasue of the small spaces. But we did :) Notice what our bed frame is made of :)

  1. I love your first apartment pictures!!! That's a fun thing to have. I should definitely take some here too. And I love the bed frame! Are you still storing lots under it?
